Let’s break it down.
I am a Detroit Native (literally – I’m Native American and Mexican) and I currently live between sunny central Florida most of the year and New York seasonally. *Pricing set with market price in case you are wondering.
When I was growing up, I would sit for hours and watch my mom skillfully apply makeup to her beautiful Native American features. She knew instinctively how to take every trend in hair, makeup, and fashion and make it her own. Even though she’s gone now, I still have many fond memories of her laughing, singing, and dancing her way through the world. Her vitality and spirit inspires me daily to apply that same love and passion into all the work that I do.
After graduating high school, I went to school for cosmetology, then to college to study business. I have always felt the drive to hustle, hustle, hustle, so I also decided to study to become a makeup artist. I attended classes anywhere I could afford – we didn’t have YouTube back then! I networked and I worked for free (a lot). I found agencies and photographers to work with to build up my portfolio and experience.
I eventually moved to Florida and spent almost a decade working in salons in Orlando and Miami, familiarizing myself with the industry and perfecting my skills. My journey has been filled with amazing opportunities doing hair and makeup for TV, such as Project Runway LA; for Grammy Award-winning artists like Eminem; magazines including Cosmopolitan, Brides Mag, and Vogue.com; and on the runway for incredible designers like Chloe and Armani.
Yet, all my clients get the best from me no matter who, what or where they're from! I love and appreciate you all the same! This is a journey I am thankful for every single day.
